I would like us to do a critique on the last seven years of OBJ's rule. Would you guys agree that after all said and done, OBJ is the best president we have ever had? If not, who qualify's. Please lets be objective and avoid using harsh words.
This could raise shortcomings/strongpoints of OBj's rule which his succesor can take a cue from.
I do think he deserves some commendation, I think his face should be on one of the next set of Naira notes, because even now, people who didnt achieve half of what he did have their faces on our naira so why not Obj's portrait.
What do you think? Mikebertola and co, pls fire replies.

OBJ is truely the best president nigeria has had since the creation of nigeria given the wave of reforms taking place in the country. Anyone would say, its the result of democracy but then one still needs descipline, focus, and vision to administer a nation.
He (OBJ) might not be that Angel we would wish for but he has set the pace and any person wishing to occupy that (ASO ROCK), should rise above board. History speaks for itself.
In the kingdom of blindmen, a one eyed-man is for sure the king.
Relatively, OBJ has performed wonderfully. His first 4 yrs in the office was more of a waste except for the GSM revolution.
However the second tenure, he was able to acheive much simply because of the composition of his kitchen cabinet and the likes of Soludo, Dora, Ribadu and several other intelligent apointment he made.
Nevertheless, his flagrant disobedience of the rule of law is a point of conecrn. Whatever course OBJ has set must surely be achieved either legally or illegally. There are several examples of such instances.
With all sincerity void of fear and favour OBJ performance is far better than every other Nigeria presidents since independence but it is far from my dream president performance. Nigerians we surely remember him for some of his great reforms. Lets hope some of the reforms do not die with his admnistration.

Obasanjo government has performed wonderfully well. Economy is main issue. Forget all these rule of law or whatever politics. There was nothing like rule of law during the dark years of Shagari, Buhari/Idiagbon, Evil Babangida, Abacha and they still ruined the economy. Tell me ways in which OBJ has ruined the economy.
I think I used to read big intellectuals that our major ecnomic problem is our external debt. Do you know what do future holds for this country for that singular effort. Don't be gaulible because of some pundits called press, they must be critical of every policy- good or bad.
Jiggo said GSM policy has been in place before OBJ, by whom? Educate us. Are you talking of talks not backed by actions.
Nigeria is now credit worthy among commitee of nations. You never know the implications of this. Wait and see if we consolidate on these gains what will happen soon. NEPA or whatever is called will soon rise. See all the power projects going on. It will start to yield resulsts soon. Railway is having new life.
You may want to argue that the economy is better of because of high price of crude oil. IBB had the same opportunity but squandered the whole thing. See Okigbo panel reports and Oputal reports on this.
There many other factors that we do not see like making it compulsory for oil and many companies have 70% of their staff as Nigerians. Lots of things.
Many people are bitter with OBJ because he did not allow business as usual. And they are the ones sabotaging his efforts as evident in the political empasse.
Datola...i'll definitely educate U on the policy that had been b4 OBJ (not now)...see, make i tell U somtin...in any democratic govt. the rule of law must always prevail witout hinderance...any attempt to byepass such by trying to do gud things (to psyche people) na falacy...am telling U
Study the developed countries...no mata wat the Presido does, if he steps oner the law...he's properly dealt with...dats wat am saying...
meanwhile, i equally laud som of his projects...i just no wan make we forget som basic things....
OBJ does a lot of unconstitutional tins not minding whose ox is gored ( he damns as he wills)...wat does that mean? Thats an UNLEADER

Yea Jiggo! Rule of law should prevail but at times we need such a leader to be 'brutal' about some of these things to get us moving. Some idiots wrote the junk called 1999 constitution. It's not good though but he has done well in what matters, the economy. It takes a serious minded president to achieve that. Let's commend him and concentrate less on the politics of "if you Takar me I go Dabo you" Most of these developed nations you mentioned if you search through history they once went through all these to get to that stage.
And to all those crying wolf where there is non they should remember the maxism, "he who comes to equity must come with clean hands"
