The first thing every man needs in life first is self discovery. Either u finished with a pass or a 1st class, if u dont know urself, its only a matter of time it wld show in the persons life.
Every man in life is created with a unique ability, a special talent, a God made skill for you to make a leaving in life.
HAve a pass in school is similar to ur school saying that: "In ur result of the schools accademic examinations, u came oout with a low grade of pass!".
Thats right!
The school never said ur personality is a 3rd class! just like Gbolahan said so many factors cld ve caused ur poor accademic performance. Andso its just an accademic performance! there are so many things in life outside accademic performance. Infact the work done in companies hadly relates to ur accademic skills. It depends more on ur core values, ur talents e,g good human relations, marketting ability, smartness, documentation skills, computer/electronics interest/skills, musical talents, entertainment skills, art/design etc.
There are so many things u cld do naturally even before u entered the university. So how u see urself is the most important, not the grade u got in school.
Develop on ur core values/telents/interestss, and u wld discover its more usefull to companies than ur grade! Andso u wld get a job soon... Although it might take u a longer time that the gys with 1st class 2-1, but withing a short time u wld meet up, in 10 15years time, no bopdy wld be able to diffrentiate 1st class from 3rd class anymore.
Just develop ur self!

Guys that finished with 3rd class and pass, that ve developed themselfs and their mind, and ve achieved greatness in their careers in Nigeria should join me in encouraging others to grow just like u did.

Nobody answer this post sef!! Abi na say becos u get PASS? Ahhh omo e no easy o!! response may have been different if it was "i got 1st class" (at least ppl will respond and tell you to shut up).

Now to the issue at hand. If I as an emloyer employs pass how will it help me? Mind you, bill gates and the rest of the drop outs hire top studenst from the best schools (ofcourse they comprise at times i.e. after you show promise).
My own problem from my experience (as u may know I was on 3-1 myself) is that people who got 3rd class but later develop themselves are either
1. People who Learnt their lessons a little late or
2. People who never needed the degree in the 1st place

In the case of "1." employers may not be too sure on how well they learnt their lesson since there is probably not a "new" and standardized yardstick to determine how well the person learnt. Thus, leading employers to look at other things like motivation etc. Unfortunately, some jobs heavily rely on a degree except the person goes all out and learns the fundamentals on one's own and starts the company altogether. So in summary, employers may still be less likely to employ pass graduates

In the case of "2". Such people would not even be employeable in their field of study. since interest no dey and ability sef show k-leg (even if he wan lie say lecturer fix am). This way, employees like this usually look elsewhere, where their specifc skill set is not paramount like in Comp Sci, Admin, Business, Media, etc But still then the employer needs some kind of yardstick. and as such still same summary.

Sometimes the degree don break the person confidence sef and that may be a greater hinderance. Also, the person shd be able to decide on what is most beneficial. different field, business start up or going back to school for round 2.

We just need to know that what you can do is the most important thing, and thats real you. So believe in your self and start doing great thingssss

I have seen a first class graduate raoming the streets in want of a job, I have seen a third class graduate managing people of great minds, I have also seen a no degree person make it great in live. So you better start thinking..............keep thinking........think outside your grade, cos it aint a common denominator. Look inwards and bring out what you really have. I believe that each of us named man has a least one talent cos each is unique. To be more aggressive, I believe that a man has more than one talent fro the same reason that each is unique. Just think, not vaguely but think through. May be you played in school, may be you didn't like your course. so what?! don't look where you have fell rather look at where you slipped. As long as you are breathing in & out air, you have the panacea staring at you. You are the remedy no other. It starts with you, others will other to help but the decision is your -it has always been yours to make. Someone may make decisions for you but still it was your decision. So brace, what you call failure is not failure. its just another way for you not to do things. Get a grip on your mentality & rise up. Life is beautiful...how do you want to colour your life...........you have the brush and the colours. PEOPLE ARE WAITING TO SEE HOW YOU WILL USE YOUR BRUSH TO APPLPY THE COLOURS AND BE SURE WHAT YOU PAINT IS WHAT WE SEE AND THATS WHAT WE WILL RELATE WITH. REMEMBER YOUR PAINTINGS ARE A REFLECTION OF YOU.

Do you know how many fortune 500 companies were started by people who didnt even have the privilege of going to university, much less having third class?

How many of our governors today had first class? I think none.

This does not take anytin away from 2.1 or 1st grads oh. Nuff Respect !

I think the problem lies with companies who insist on recruiting only people with 1st and 2nd class. I believe that if given the chance people with 3rd class will prove themselves capable of getting the job done as long as they are adequately trained.You will all agree with me that on the job training and experience is a lot useful and better than classroom training.

My guys,
I av com 2 d full realisation dat wat resides inside of u is wat determines how ur life will turn out 2 be. Education is a tiny percentage of one's entire life even though it is a very important aspect.

Therefore, if one graduates with an "unimpressive" degree, it only means dat due to some reasons u've not been able to impress a particular institution (ur School). this may sometimes not be ur fault.

Due to our Nigerian factor, many would never go back for a second try at school. If u know wat u hav inside of u & believe dat u r good, ur class of degree should not break ur confidence. All u need do is find someone who believes in u & will be willing to give u an opportunity to prove ur worth. Talk 2 people about what u can do. It might take time but u surely find somebody. Don't look down on ur self


Pls think about this; If ur certificate gets destroyed by fire or something, what remains is the true u.

Develop urself beyond what ur certificate says.

Also if u know u realy tried ur best in ur undergraduate program, asin its not asif u were unseriousss, its just dat 3rd class was d best u cld get. Yes its very possible, dat means u are a 3rd class material in dat particular course u studied, but dat deosnt mean ur personality and capability is a 3rd class. I know a friend who red microbiology, but d guy his so talented with his mouth(asin he can flow and talk well). So i knew he was doing d wrong course as he wld have been better in d marketting stuffs. Rescently i saw him working for an advertisment agency as a marketer and he his enjoying himself. I am not sure of his final grade in micro, but u wld surely know he is not using his grade in micro for d job.
So u may not be realy good at d course u studied in school, its not a crime, but u are definately good at something else. Find it! develop it! follow it through, b4 u know it, u wld become valuable, and people wld start asking after u. This works for every graduate either u ve got a 1st class or a 3rd class.

is there any third class person still in the dungeons of self pity?......when are you really going to wake up to life? when will you start achieving? when do you want to live confident? when will you start to see the good in you? Why call a pity party when so many opportunities are all round you. your tears have covered your eyes & your misery has overtaken good thinking...who will come to your party? NONE...who will stand by you? NONE....when you fall we expext you to rise up again....if you dont, we will come to your aid.....but after we have aided you & you still refuse to be up, a burden you become. One thing you must realise is that man was never meant to be static. if you see a man thats on a spot for a long while, ask him and you will find out that he is miserable. A man that stays still, will have flies perch on him like one who is dead. one thing you have to discover is for you to find your path.....things that make you tick like the clock...and the truth of the matter is that you will find that thing inside of you...so if you dont pay attention to the innate you, you can't get it out and so you will grope in the dark and nobody sees in the dark unless the light shines in darkness
