@wexcel Yeah follow the route issued by @Fowe. First start out running linux on a VM. I use VirtualBox though in the reverse (i.e Windows on VM running on linux host). When u feel comfortable and we pray u do feel comfortable with linux. We will just be so eager and happy to guide u on how to do the reverse (ie. run linux completely and run Windows on VM) this is the point of no return. From here onward u get the god-like feeling of bending windows to its knees.(FYI. I just find pissing windows every now and then fun.dont blame me am a bored programmer in search of social engagement... ok i lied..i just do it for ... well FUN. )... CIAO

@X-2-X, I downloaded the exe file for Virtualbox and during installation i get a warning that the software is not signed to be compatible with WindosXP. Then i am advised to discontinue the installation. The warning says that something can go wrong with my OS behaviour if i install it. So i discontinue the installation. Did you get something similar

@X-2-X Now I think am not an attention seeker, I got the (.exe) from: http://dlc.sun.com.edgesuite.net/virtua ... 53-Win.exe because my host is Window XP and I run the Fedora Linux as a guest with the help of the Manual You directed me to. Thanks, and for the pop-up warning message, is just informing the user that the Network may be disconnected during installation, show I make sure am not doing anything online during that time and it pass-by and the Fedora Linux is working fine as a guest OS on my Window Host machine. But my question is can it still continue working if I insert another Memory (RAM) because I have 1GB and I used 256 MB for the guest (i.e Fedora Linux),.
Regards

As long as your host detects the increased ram, the Virtual Machine should see a bigger total physical RAM. So far you don't change how much of this total is allocated to the guest, the guest will continue to use 256MB. You can always apportion a part of that total to the guest (->Machine->Settings-System option page).
@Fowe: Currently, VirtualBox runs on the following host operating systems: Windows hosts: – Windows XP, all service packs (32-bit) – Windows Server 2003 (32-bit) – Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit1). 1Support for 64-bit Windows was added with VirtualBox 1.5 – Windows Server 2008 (32-bit and 64-bit) – Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) (gotten from their manual)
I dont believe anything can go wrong with your system........... Better still, create a restore point before proceeding, that way u can boot in safe mode and restore iif anything seems to go wrong (which I strongly doubt)
