Hey guys or do i say dudes anyways u know what i mean, i kinda missed this forum i have been MIA for awhile... but i really have been poppingin to see what you all are up to... well i have been doing lots of developement and self improvement work.. and hey there is nothing really as good as a good experience.. i have been doing alot of php lately.. and been forced to aggressively learn ADmwCS3 to accomplish some task.. i never really loved the tool untill lately.. Adobe u rock.. well in the course of my dev.. i did lots of database work.. form validation.. and before now my javascript really sucked... ok not really i never really like the language though but i came to reallize that man u just gotta plug some JS into any web app to save some typing and save u the time spend in adding multiple pages.. so i i did a lil look aroung got a few open source JS codes to accomplish my task then it just clicked in me .. I need a good js library... so here i am trying out dojo.. i must say am impressed with this library and it just makes me see JS in a different light now. i sometime agoo posted something on GWT.. my drive to GWT was to get on the AJAX band wagon using the java i know and shawning JS. but now i stood back and analyze both frameworks... well i concluded... "if u do php and need some ajax the dojo be it ur answeer. If u have ur java server end and u want some ajax web feel then gwt be it thy answer". though u could do gwt and link to php.. man JAVA weds PHP geeze doesn't feel right.. so now my lil growing skill set will encompass DOJO ,GWT and many more. man dont i love IT.. well anyone witha thot or two and ready to hear from you. thanks guys

@ndy40 Interesting to see that you are really developing yourself. Blending all the skills together in IT is always a major challenge, i just found my own blend of skills recently, and it took a long while before i could arrive at that. You certainly right that blending Java and PHP together could be challenging, so you need to decide your main direction. Since both sides are growing exponentially.
By the way where are you work presently

I am very much a GWT fan, but GWT isnt the only way to AJAXing your java webapps. Apache Wicket now has the biggest daily newsgroup traffic of all Apache projects!!! And Wicket does AJAX on java webapps, with "refreshing lack of XML"
The thing is not to go with the buzz, or got with "whats hot". Do not try only one and discountenance the others. Keep the door open, else you'd never know what's outside.
I used to swear by Struts, so much so I never even looked at JSF. Now even Struts has been thrown out the window.
well i do love gwt. i looked at other ajax frameworks like scriptaculous, prototype and extjs.. but i came to realize ur usage of javascript based ajax framework would require that u have an indept knowledge of js even to the level of doing pseudo OOp in js. and guy the codes where confusing me. so i settled for this solution. if am doing any php based application and i need a little ajaxing here and there then prototype and scriptacoulous combination goes well with the plan. but if i need to do a full fledge ajax application from head to toe then gwt hold the key. even then i use extgwt for my UI in gwt and do the remaining RPC with gwt itself and every other wonderful thing that comes with GWT.In conclusion this is the key use what u are most confortable with after looking at the available options.

Very kool ideas.... Now talking more about our auto-ajax applications. i am presently concerned about the best design and language combination. Now you have your code...running well and doing its job on a beautiful MSDOS or Linux console.
Now we want to auto-AJAX the user interface into the web... ..which programming languages do you guys think best fits, or best blends with this our auto-Ajax applications like GWT and Apache Wicket.

sory guys i actually wanted to post a link to a youtube video on an application written in gwt. but this careersng stuff hurts a lot. by the way visit code.google.com and visit any of the videos there.
I have used gwt though but have not yet brought out a responsible application just yet. though the technology holds so much promise i ran into a brick wall. this all happened when i integrated hibernate into the gwt stack and this is where the javascript nightmare started. i had to send serilized oobjects to our lame browser but javascript can only handle serialized data while on the other hand hibernate returns proxified data from the db. And now fellas i got this solution to this problem called GILEAD formerly known as hibernate4gwt.. i have integrated it yet to see if it could help with the serialization problem but man am already exploring other solutions that would save me this serialization wahala. and i came across echo and now it mill. this are mainly server based ajax framework so here i dont need to worry about serializing data to js on the server side. i simple do java the way java would be done on the serverside.without worries.. so I think am past the genesis to the mathew part of the scripture... i soon hope to get to the Revelations soon.
Yep gwt is cool... am tryin out IT mill Toolkit.... its more of a server side ajax framework... yeah good question x2x whats ur new year resolution... u have been quiet abit lately so unlike u...

i saw something kool today, i initially tut it was gwt, but later i guess the gwt mean google wireless transcoder. http://www.google.com/gwt/n? it wld help u translate any website to a mobile phone browsable. its like a mobile proxy. i wonder why Google didnt give it publicity.
here is a guy show off different GWT tools with demo and code:
you would notice he is biased towards wicket, making points against gwt, whereas those -ve points are my own +ve points for gwt. my intention is not to do ANY html(bcus i dont knw now it! ), and it seams gwt is the only one making this possible so far. gwt all the way!

The AppEngine "free" quotas provide more than reasonable capacity for standard web apps - at no cost. No more excuses a la web hosting costs, etc, etc.
For me, this couldn't have come at a better time than now, when my creative juices are flowing at full throttle.
