Since everyone can think! But we differ in our initial pre-disposition to thinking.
Why not incite it? Why cant we deliberately think!

This days i am getting tired of theoretical facts going everywhere in Nigeria without simple practical steps to getting things done. Thats why i have been making efforts to convert any idea or theoretical fact to the iterative practical steps necessary to take and that works!
Just like you know, everyone says ha! time na money...but thats only a theoretical definition. But if you say BuyTime! thats an action word.

Its time to start converting words to actions...theories to practicals.

Now everyone also says: If you Dont think you Stink!
I call that a statement of fact, and so many Nigerian youths and pastors love saying it....yet i have not seen how it has actually driven us to more productive thinking.

Therefore this thread is for us to delineate practical ways by which we can improve our thinking skills.

I would appreciate all contributions

OK, i go first.

Goto buy yourself 3 big white cardboard's with solid pencils and erasers.
Attach it to the walls of your room and be causing issues on them.
i mean ...just be writing/drawing anything on them!
Keep writing and drawing any good or stupid idea that comes to your head and you would be adding to it and developing the ideas day by day.

I believe the visual effect of having something to write on enhances our thinking skills, and it also fosters thinking synergy between you and someone living with you.

Maintenance...
Date everything you write.
When one Cardboard is full of ideas, take a solid high resolution digital picture of the card board, save it in your computer or internet. Erase/clean the cardboard and start drawing all over again!

Dont worry very soon we are bringing flat multi-touch screens to your homes

Alternatively, take a pen and a piece of paper with you wherever you go. Meditate on a subject and write dowm ideas yu get from within. As ideas come put it down and act it.

My immediate advice about improving Thinking skills

1) As a starting point, I would recommend that you start by focusing and learning about the things that enjoy doing the

most.I would recommend you mull over them;especially with a view to doing them better.

2) I would also recommend the QUESTION MODEL.Questions like.....

What is happening?

What is not happening?

How does this this affect me and how do I respond/utilize it?


3) I would also recommend what I call THE ASSOCIATION METHOD

This means deliberately choosing friends who great thinkers and analysts and discuss your ideas or thoughts with them.The concept here is that they can help you stretch your thinking levels



4) I would also the READING/STUDY/MEDITATIVE METHOD

This just implies that you should spend time on meditative study or reading......

I have classified reading into 3:-

Academic Study/Reading:- General study for exams or school work.

Hobby Centric Reading:-Reading for leisure or at leisure.......

Challenge/Need/Problem based reading:-Reading to solve an immediate pressing problem or need directly.

I would recommend Challenge/Problem/Need Based reading as the most effective way to directly improve

Thinking.The key is simply read/study with a view to solve problems in our everyday lives!...Every challenge/problem

now becomes a mental growth opportunity.

I recommend you list your top 3 challenges now and start this exercise with the very first and topmost one!

Search/Ask around for books that address that particular issue(s)( I would not recommend more than 3-5 books maximum)

Pick one of the books-maybe by reference or initial back cover analysis or summary analysis.....

Study for the facts/chapters that correlates or resonates with your direct challenge/need at that time! You might not need to read everything!

Think by asking questions about the chapters/facts you're reading.....(Does this apply to me?Can i use this knowledge?How can i apply this?What do I need to learn/do? Who do I need to become? etc)

YOU MUST THINK ON PAPER(Write It Down!) Otherwise this exercise will be fruitless!

It might be more effective to use the association method as depicted above, by appointing an accountability partner

to review the process with.


When you carry out this exercise, you are directly improving your Thinking capability by solving your problems, using other people's idea or thoughts to generate your own indigenous solution peculiar to your personal private needs!


The key here is not even in the solution/result, but in the additional thinking capability that is developed.Your

personal mental muscles are stretched and enhanced such that they would never return back their original size, by

virtue of use!
