Thank God oooo. Finally lagos is now showing up on google earth.
I was able to clearly navigate Victorial island.
The picture below is Ikoyi side gowing 2wards 3rd main land bridge.
Ibadan too seams to show, but Abuja isn't yet.

We are getting there....

Wa o! Good news this is. How I wish my office location is included already.

Fowe, pls what do we stand to gain from this Google innovation apart from the normal info the conventional map provides?

Hey! This is wonderful ooo. I can wait to Navigate a local Alagbado area right from Google Maps :lol:

Guys is time to start thinking. GPS is becoming an issue now oo. We need to be at the center of some of this technology. Fowe, can u please sent us some information about this. We need to understand how it all started, the present and then we can start thinking about contributing instead of sitting here in Africa and be an end consumer. We can start a class on this in this forum! If we can understand the technology very well then we start contrubuting. Shall we??

but please mr fowe how can this be useful to me?

especially that the ileya(festive ram) of my neighbour got missing......

it was a big ram........please can we use google satellite map-image to locate it?

But come ooo its getting better..the latest version of Google earth has all the major cities in Nigeria...including PH, Enugu, Oyo and Oshogbo!
How dont know how much villagely your village is...its might just ve there by now

Although my own village is not there yet...because its really villagely :roll:

Can u tell me in what format G! wants the uploaded map data to be in? I havent read much about Google Earth's Technology but I know it has to do with KML, a special markup language.

...yea its was a verbal yearn with one of the Google guys, so i had to do some search to remember the key word he mentioned as the solution.
And the answer is WikiMapia!
He said we can do some community collaboration in Nigeria to upload our maps

another option is GPS/GIS tiles and the KML stuff u mentioned.
