When I started, the things I said I will never touch are the things I live by today. Thats why I discourage people from being too rigid. Give me Microsoft, Linux, etc. I will take it, use it and love it. No sentiments.
I guess the point has been made though. Tomcat or no Tomcat, M$ VS.net 2008 IDE really kicks butt, any serious developer would fall in love with it . . . at first sight. Take it from me.
My bad. There is an "express" edition of Visual Studio that allows you to have a lot of the features (barring the very advanced features for professionals) and it is free for download:

It seams the new Netbeans 6.5 has now included C language in the C++ IDE and some more sophisticated features. I think Netbeans is really catching on...so nato stick to the one wey make programming simpler

The latest hope we have in C++ = Qt!
I would be doing a lot of posts on Qt soon. Also follow the meegoconference coming later this month.. because the plans for Qt5 would be discussed there.
