Have you ever worked on Mikrotik router using an external Radius Server? Please kindly share your experience on this. If you have any useful information about making mikrotik router to use an external Radius Server, kindly help. I got a Radius Server configured to accepts request from the mikrotik router. But how do i link the mikrotik hotspot to do all login Authentication, Authorization and Accounting through the standalone Radius server? All opinions is welcome. Seluwole.

I guess you wantto use the Radius service for authentication. Another alternative could be opensource LDAP! It also depends on exactly what you want to use a radius server for... U may share it

I was suppose to update my profile on mikrotik & set use-radius=yes since am connecting with a static ip address. This is not needed if am using the dhcp of the router, because the default profile has been set to use-radius=yes.
This implies that mikrotik router will consult the preset radius server, if it does not find the username & password supplied by its dhcp client on it local user manager database. After following the procedure stated here http://www.mikrotik.com/testdocs/ros/2. ... radius.php" & updated my profile as stated above, I was able to get authenticated by my Radius Server.
