I run Fedora Core 4 and My DNS was working fine until i did some modification.Now i tried to start it and its giving me errors.I have tried whole of things,still to no avail.Please i'll need possible solutions to help me get my DNS up and running.Below is the error it gives:

Ok i see.
Could u paste here your named config files(named.conf, zone files etc).
Also what kinda DNS server is it; is it just an internet cache only DNS?
Or a Master DNS for ur intranet?

I created and edited the files myself.It was not generated by a daemon.

Which quoted porton are u talking about?The "19.168.192" or the whole portion you highlighted?

permission denied means the user executing the named has no permisson to carry out such task. check the zone files and see that the user and group are named .

to change user and group type chown named.named "filename"

Fowe,i uncommented those portions and started named but it still gave the Permission denied error.
Aytope,I believe the permissions are in order.What else could be wrong?

well. the problem is still one of permission. what is the ownership and group of the /var/named directory??
change the group to named and lets have ur feed back.
and change the permission to 753 and lets see if that annoying message goes away.

ur zone files looks funny anyway, there are entry where u dont have the IN attribute. u shudnt have edited localhost.zone and localdomain.zone at all. those are for resolving ur "localhost".

look at the named.local and emulate the format to create ur bravag.zone. tht cud help as well.
