Now lets get technical
There is a lot of cool stuffs you can do with the series of Google API's that are available freely on the web...thesame web! Many of us spend hours watching YouTube online which is good, but as a programmer it should go beyond that...you should be thinking of how to program using YouTube API's or even write your won thing! The interesting thing is that Google has made this API's so easy to use that all you need is just to be a programmer to use it...asin even if all u know is HTML, its enough skill to be able use some of Google Technologies. Two of Google's API's i ve used are GWT and Maps API. Since i no sabi HTML and Java script...and i no won sabi am. GWT answers my trouble. I can build a full AJAX application with my normal Java code, and GWT would convert it to AJAX! I did some research on transportation routing and Google Maps was the answer... rather than killing myself..with VC++ graphics. I used just a tiny part of the possibilities of GMAPs API...its not so fancy because my work is more on the algorithms running in d background not on the Map. I am sure sound HTML and JAVA Script guys would do a better job than this. But anyhow...check the application on myLab machine on this url:

Where is West Africa's Map!?
In a world class developers day in which more than 3000 programmers were present. You would not believe i couldn't count more than 10 black guyss(myself inclusive ) i guess other guys are black Americans..though but didnt have space to talk to any of them. the second day was the camp fire, in which the Google Maps and Google Earth's technical team was presented and we were able to ask them any question. As the oyinbo pple they ask their technical questions based on their countries Maps ...Immediately i remember say papa X-2-X no go gree me enter CNG again...if i no ask for the Map of him Benin City oooo so i quickly represent make i ask for our own thing. So i asked about what they are doing concerning the coverage in West Africa. Is there any impending plans...? one of the Googlers said Yes there is!...i said the answer has always been yes! so whats new? why the delay? what can we do so one of the ogas now, came up and said...na because we no get data! that it has been challenging for them getting maps data in our region. Thats why we no dey Google Maps. He said they decided to tentatively do the google earth satellite pictures for us, maybe we can trace the roads from the images using some image processing techniques. He said we can also do community collaboration...he sited an example of a community or region in India that organized and uploaded their map data to Google themselves. They said Wikimapia is the answer to this... For the 3D views...when most part of Nigeria has been covered by the Google Earth Image Satellite ...its our responsibility to draw the 3D images of buildings ourselves oooo...using SketchUp as described in previous post. ...after working on our map data...and we get Google Maps working in Nigeria, finally in the future we can easily request Google to come and do the street views...but we go ask them to come with at least 100 extra tires for their street view 3D panorama truck. because.... you know our roads nowwww, enough flat tiresssss! ...just jocking i pray our roads would have improved by then.
....after that one i further asked a second question which was very technical and solid! its a feature on traffic data that Google Maps API has not included yet...i ask that one join.... make dem no think say na Yaradua send me come ...say i no know wetin dem they talk for there
I think i might stop here...i no be journalist...too much to talk about, so i rather answer questions than doing infinite postsss.
Regards to all
