This is very interesting, i wish more of Nigerian students can come up with more of this against all odds because it seems government seems to be interested in any home made things until such talents are used in building the same thing from foreign country.

I salute the guy's spirit and also encourage others to go extra length in bringing their ideas to reality not theory alone.

This is very great that Nigerian students can come up with a better idea like this. I really encourage that future of Nigerian students is bright.
My advise for we the rest of Nigerian students is that we should avoid violence and cultism. Because there is a lot potentials in Nigerian students. Let start positive things to make Nigeria a great nation.
Greatest Nigerian Students !!!
Great oooooooooooooooooooooo!

If you ask me.. I will only tell you that the guy has seen what his mate does nhot see. He has heard what his mate could not hear. That is why he could come-up with this idea in a place like Kano.

One of the greatest factor that kill such tallent in others is the struggle to survive. Most youth has already got their life conditioned... Mechanical way of living... "Go to school, Serve the country, get a job and then get married". Each of this stages takes a considerable time (Years at times) to achieve. This made most youth to deviate from their talent and put all their energy into the "Race for survival".

Here is my advice for everyone going through this forum. You can only survive with "Mechanical ways of living" but you can "Attain Excellent and gain Global recognitions" with what you have been naturally gifted to do. This is not the function of the school you attend, the course, your grade, your tribe or family backgroud. I'll put it to you this way... If you ever got any disadvantage in your life, that is the greatest catalyst that can even push you toward achieving what you are naturally gifted to do.

Remember this generation is waiting on you oo...

I report oooo

hen, seluwolestik!
It be like say we wld go start this topic again for motivational section ooo

Yea its true,
just as the maslow pyramid shows, its difficult to jump one stage... U can be thinking of invention or self actualization when you are hungry and insecure... Thats the first area we need to address in Nigeria, then we would see more innovations....

@Fowe:

Thanks for uploading the pix. It wll be a good idea if you acknowledge the source (http://www.age-of-the-sage.org/psycholo ... ramid.html) for copyright reasons.

BTW, u are quite right.

Marslow pyramid (a.k.a hierachy or needs, or pyrmid of needs) answers the question why we are mostly content with seluwole's "Mechanical way of life". Our needs are mostly deficit needs, rather than self-actualization.

@lanlife
Some inventors, when they create something in Nigeria, they are very quick to sell it away for peanuts rather than commercialize it themselves on a national or global scale. Why? Cos, they want food on their table today: A bird in hand, they say, is worth more that two in the bush.. It highlights a DEFICIT.

Oneugo asked a question on one of the other thread that went along the lines "but for how long . . . .?"

For how long do we leave our diamonds remain in the dustbin?

@Fowe:
Nice write up I also saw the news somewhere online. When I read it I was very happy until I read those few words that always prove we are Nigerians. FYI, the guy who invented the flag also said it recently: I.e. "I(we) are now waiting for the government to assist with.... and we all know the general story.
Can we stop waiting for someone for once in our lives? Why must someone or something else ALWAYS be the full determinant of our pace (Note: I do understand legal and financial constraints concerning many issues).
Truth is inventions are good; but they must also be proven for their values (like salesmanship). (You can read the story of the wright brothers and see how they were waiting for the government) Note: Coincidentally I just read the story a few days before I saw this story. I was reading because I loved the airbus 380 idea.
Afterall the guy had something since poverty stricken ppl don't have the resources to reinvent helicopters.
The govt. needs to understand d story om embrauer -a brazillian plane firm (not sure of d spelling) and ppl like that boy himself or anyone working with him should be able to MAKE the govt(or any useful person- even boeing or chopper makers) understand that.

This is great and commendable.
considering the non-chalant attitude coming from some quarter on this great achievement, what me i have made up my mind to do is to be optimistic, praying and keep on trying know fully well that some day some time some where some how in some place by some people all my good works and intention to make my country great shall be revealed and greatly rewarded.
