About scholarships, I think it is more difficult to get scholarships to the UK compared to the US. But u can try your luck. British Chevening and commonwealth scholarships are available.


If you have a good first degree (usually a 1st class), you may apply for scholarships from your faculty or university.

Also, if you want to do research rather than taught courses, you have a betta chance of funding. I would suggest you contact a professor in your school of interest and discuss research proposals and funding possibilities.

Finally, there is Esso and PTDF scholarship from Nigeria. Problem is PTDF will mostly send u to a course and university of their choice. For Esso (ExxonMobil), you will stand a betta chance if :

1. You already have admission from a prestigious school (Imperial, Stanford, Uof T , etc) on a course that is related to their business (e.g Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Geoscience, Corrosion/Metalurgical Engineerin, etc)

2. You perform brilliantly in the selection test.

The Esso advert comes every April/may, you have enuf time to prepare !
