CareersNG

Interesting in the sense that, they have exotic sounding names and very costly price tags attached. Try these: Trichomonas, Chlamydia, Human papillomavirus (HPV), Genital herpes, Hepatitis B and C, Condyloma, and about 20 others. As you can see, I have not listed AIDS, Syphilis and Gonorrhea-they are most commonly known.

Like I say, don't go sticking your key in every padlock. Also, don't allow your padlock receive just any kind of key.

all intending corpers, not mind all these talk about keys and padlocks.

my own advise for y'all is to do as much runs as you can. runs as in you can combine another job with your primary assignment.
i did. it was risky but it was fun. it saved me the ache of wanting to come back to Lagos.
and the double, what am i saying, triple, plus government allowee money was good too.

erm...what is all this further talk about keys and padlocks? By the way, be careful with the combination locks...they are born-again. For them...one lock, one key. No vandalism there! Good luck if you are going for service!!

Hi y'all. Well for intending corpers, especially the ladies and some guys who don't mind, u may need to get extra pairs of white shorts. The ones given in camp jump up after the first washing. So it's better you get ones that won't expose too much of u. U could also go with tights. Veeerrrryyyy necessary. Then like has already been said , don't go with too flashy things 'cos they could bring undue attention to you, especially when u don't want that. And perhaps the looters and robbers. About money, there are banks that will come over to camp and u can lodge ur money with them. At my own orientation camp(by the way I had so much fun there), there were UBA, Oceanic, ETB and WEMA banks. I can't remember other banks that were there. More banks may come over.
So, instead of coming with so much money to the camp, u could deposit some in the banks and then withdraw from camp.
I'll strongly advise that you don't go with so much money to orientation camp, pleeeaaassseeee. That way u wouldn't be forced to spend so much, eat every thing u see or buy every thing u see. U know u'll have to take photos on camp, so go with "snapping" money
U can also try the camp food. I must confess that I didn't miss any meal given at the camp exceot for the times I was late and the food had finished, Or when we were served with beans(which I don't savour so much)
Go with provisions ooooo. Whether u eat camp food or not. They'll come in handy. O' course there's lights out, but u've got to be very careful with what goes o in camp- the people there, the activities, etc. It's not time for u to forget God. It's God first then He'll order ur steps.

I'll have more to say , next time.

Questions:
1. IF you are posted to a place u know someone, can you live in the person's place instead of staying in the camp?
2. Do you have to register daily (or how will the camp boss know u did ur orientation)?
3. You guys say the orientation is the most important, but people do miss it for reasons best known to them yet they still get NYSC cert. How is this possible? (pls don't just say leg! I mean what excuses are valid)

una just bone sha... correct

If ur dream is to serve in Lag, then u better watch it. 12months ago I prayed and fasted and as GOD may have it, I was posted to Lag all d way from Enugu (ESUT).

On arivin Lag, I felt fulfil'd. But after camp, I wished i was posted to the North. Every corper in Lag knws d popular phrase: ON YOUR OWN(OYO).

While dose posted to d north resumed work a day after camp, we in Lag had to walk the streets of Lag writing apt. tests as if we were searching for a permanent job. 2months after camping, I was still seaching. But thank GOD i later made it to one of the communication companies in Lag.

Well, 4every demerit, there is a corresponding merit. Just 2weeks ago, we had our POP (passing Out Parade). While most of us in Lag got employed b4 the end of the service yr, our friends in the north had to travel to their villages b4 deciding on wat to do next. I pray God to asist them.

So if u are ready to write numerous apt tests after camp, and spend many weeks walking d streets of Lag, then pray to serve in Lag. If not, WATCH IT.

In Lag, U must be OYO

So, shine ur eyes

Actually, methinks that the major ways of getting a certificate outside of service are illegal.

I do know one thing though: joining the Super Eagles will ensure that you LEGALLY get a certificate. Odegbami got his NYSC certificate sometime last year(...or was it in 2004?) because he was in the Green Eagles when his mates when in the service year. The same will apply to Vincent Enyeama.
