well.. it all depends on how well you can manage your survival instint..

there is this saying that if you cant get what you love, then you learn to love what you have.

its better to start by grabbing whichever opportunity comes handy.. then from ther you move on..
well.. with my lil work experience , i found out that nagging boss are everywhere. and its all about attitude.. if you have the right attitude, you can overcome just any business challenge you face.

my thought.

for this present day Nigeria where u get 1 job in 6 months, i will advice you to hold on to what you have, then let your gift find you out.
So engineer wey get diamond bank job...go for it, very soon, you will either get transfered to their IT section or you willl get an engineering job.
The most difficult stage is ..getting your first job.
my opinion

Also note that its only in your first job that you have the easiest chance to choose d direction of your career. Other jobs u want to pick after would be looking at your work experince and if it drastically differ, it can hinder your chances.

hmm.. thats true sha..

Jiggo, you spoke well.. you said you rejected the 40k job because you have alternatives.. and that is the truth..
i started this discussion with the fact that survival instinct is a major determinant of what is wrong or right job for a starter.

but somehow.. life has a way of giving you just what you ask for ,, or settle for.
The steps of the righteous are ordered by God.
If you really wanna do what you like doing for money.. then i strongly advice you to go solo.. start something on your own.

i read an advert on businessday yesterday by heartsofafrica or smth..
the guy said he finished from auchi wih lower and instead of following the path of travelling at all cost.. he started honey farming.. today he is 30 and he is financially free...
there is no such thing as an ideal job or a right job.. because human wants are unlimited..
so my final submission is...
be the best at whatever you find yourself.. whatever your hands findeth to do.. do am with all diligence.

my thoughts.

For example, your ideal job is when ur job is fun to u. when ur hobby bcomes your vocation.
is Ronaldinho of Brazil not doing an ideal job?

Nigeria as country has actually made every job to seems a good job.
The survival instinct in everyone often overides logical thinking.
There are many people who are currently doing their current job just to keep body & soul together.
However, if you truly know where you are going and what you want it is better one is selective in terms of job, it should not be any thing goes.

At times you enter into some profession and before you know it you are trapped.
There are alot of folks who ended up wasting 5 years of Engineering study rigour just beacause the are trapped in their current job.

Fulfilment in life goes beyond just keeping body and soul together.
