Simons, unfortunately, is very secretive. I doubt that there's anything on him outside what is listed on wikipedia and forbes/fortune. He was the highest earner a few years ago when he made over $1B that year (higher than warren buffet and d like) and that's how I knew of him.
Not sure of steve Ballmer. He's the ceo of Microsoft and I guess there shd be many books on him as seen on amazon . Most things about him are in the media and a good summary of his life is also on wikipedia
I knew Charles simonyi (inventor of Word and Excel) bcos of a professorship he sponsored. The guy who won it was Ed Witten (Note: Ed Witten is pretty much the einstein of today and he also comments on James Simons). Anyway, simonyi's story is interesting because He is a Ph.D. holder in computer science who made enough money to sponsor the einstein of today. (so that it will look as if the smartest person isn't as influential as a rich person who happened to be an employee not even a business owner).
Eric Schmidt: ceo of google is a Ph.D. holder in elect. (I don't think there'll be books on him now) Surprisingly, he's now worth over $6B (an employee who's worth more than Ralph Lauren or Steve jobs)
Henry Samueli (chairman and cofounder of broadcom maker of many LAN and wireless switches) was an Elect/elect prof who turned his invention/research into lots of cash. I don't think there're any books on him since his firm started in the 1990's.
Another interesting person is David E. Shaw (he's brilliant and his company only employs intelligent bookworms). I don't think there're any books on him

Brilliance,Intelligence.I want to agree with X-2-X about no Correleration at all btw the Two.However,where does the adjective 'SMART' come in?I have often heard from some Enterpreneurs that Intelligence is not Enough,U have to be Smart in the Business world.
Intelligence makes u create something New but Being Smart makes u understand how to turn it into Wealth.
A brilliant student can read his notebook meticulously and Pass.An Intelligent student might not pass very well if the exam is all about what has been taught.A Smart student can pass without reading his notebook meticulously (he might look at past exam trends,etc but definitely not cheating).
I have heard the Story of Bill Gate and come to the Conclusion that his was a Combination Of Intelligence and Smartness I Stand to be Corrected

Well... sincerely i think you are right, i am just reacting to some things, i hope to pin down soon! And your hypothesis should most likely be correct. the only info we lack here are the time lines... When are we going to start coming together ? well... for now i would just stick to my present philosophy which is what ever i can do to help others i would do it +/- Nigerian government. and i would encourage others to do the same. maybe there would be a light at the end of the tunnel and may be we are close to it... who knows?...

Hmm, Its so funny if people cannot look at history and see how blacks have greatly contributed to the developments in the world in general.God made blacks special and gave us a very special kind of intelligence. Nothing or anyone can take it. Just like Mr. Fowe said, its time for us to start acting and quit talking much of it. Let's prove our worth to the world. The best way to silence a discredit is by acting.Lets do this!!!

Obviously and clearly, this preposterous insinuation or conclusion by the "learned white man" is wrong.........Elementary science and anatomy has proven that the black man isn't deficient of grey matter in any way..................
Infact, the reality his existence is proof of the enormous capability and capacity available to the black man.
Indeed, the black man is loaded with so so much! A major challenge as some earlier posts identified is the
debilitating infrastructure(leadership,environment and culture) that makes the expression of this intelligence very difficult!
It is interesting to note; that irrespective and inspite of this, the individual black man in the context of the emerging
knowledge economy is forging ahead!.....There are several "referential proofs" that attests to this(I do not
wish to elongate this post by unnecessary and evident statistics).............
However, I would seek your corporate indulgence to respond quickly by asking this enlightened white fellow a
simple question in the context of history..............
"Is he aware of the part played by the white man in binging the black man to where he is today?"
(I am not transferring responsibilities here, I am only tinkering the supreme intelligence of the revered "Nobel
Laurette",in a bid to wake him up)
How the most virile and most intelligent of black men were shipped out of their native lands of birth to go farm and
build the cities of the white man?
How about deliberately tinkering and exploiting the natural resources and the economy of the black man in a bid to
keep him in perpetual servitude?
If he is in doubt,he should consult his kinsman- a fellow white man in the person of John Perkins to clear his doubt.
In conclusion, this fellow needs to re-introspect on this matter, otherwise, I am about to conclude that he doesn't
fully understand what he is talking about.
I would also say, let us individually and collectively as black people, roll up our sleeves and emancipate ourselves!
