The German Technical Cooperations (GTZ) Employment-oriented Private Sector Development Programme is looking for full-time staff for a Business Information and Training Centre in Lafia (Nasarawa State). Manager (Business Development Officer)
He/She will be responsible for NBICs overall management and administration plus the Business Development Officer post. The person will:
1. Promote the NBICs services and products to their intended markets and insure that sales are generated on a daily basis. Oversee the maintenance functions.
2. Insure that the NBIC is in full operational condition, the clients are constantly flowing and equipment as well all other facilities are fully utilized.
3. Perform the overall personnel management and supervision functions and assume the financial responsibility.
4. Facilitate the production and use of new business and technical information packages.
5. Conduct business management training programs when possible and supervise the sustained provision of the counselling and consulting services, specially the volunteers program.
Education
Business administration with strong advisory, training and marketing ability. Must be 45 years or below and a pleasing personality. Minimum of 5 years in the private sector in supervisory capacity. Those with MBA and extensive PC and internet know-how will be preferred.
Learning Events Officer
He/She will be responsible for implementation of all NBICs learning events.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Promote and market the NBICs learning events and training programmes to their intended markets and insure that sales are generated on a daily basis.
2. Assist in handling the business management and management aspects of the Selective Dissemination and Technical Inquiry services and ensure that they are provided on regular basis.
3. Conduct or outsource business management training programmes when possible.
4. Campaign for the use of business information (including the use of newsletters, radio, internet, etc.) as well as the application of information in various business and non-business groups. Moreover, the officer should promote investments for Nasarawa State and relate with various business associations in the Private Sector.
5. Introduce new courses, develop materials and provide follow-up services to all the former course participants.
6. Any other duties of an equivalent level as assigned by the Superior.
Qualification Profile
He/She should hold at least a degree in Business Administration (preferably in Human Resource development) with strong advisory, training and marketing ability; Age: 40 and below with a pleasant disposition. He/ She should also have a minimum of three (3) years in the Private Sector in supervisory capacity. Preference will be given to any candidate with MBA. Sound Computer knowledge (MS office)
Librarian and Administration
He/|She will be responsible for NBIC management and delivery of library as well as technical information service.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manage the information storage and library exchange between the NBIC and its partners and service providers. Insure that the library rules and regulations are strictly adhered to.
2. Assist in handling the business management and management aspects of the Selective Dissemination and Technical Inquiry services and ensure that they are provided on regular basis; handle the presentation and selling of InfoPacks to other Libraries and schools in the state.
3. Assist the Technical Info Officer in conducting or outsourcing the production of information-related products, when possible.
4. Campaign for the use of business and technical information (including the use of newsletters, radio, internet etc.) as well as the applications of information in various business and non-business groups. Moreover, the officer should promote reading culture and even reading literacy to some library clients.
5. Introduce new topics for business and technical information. The officer should also assist in the services delivery of the Cafi and other information-related NBIC products.
6. Oversee the personnel administration of the NBIC, Assist the Manager in the administration of the NBIC.
7. Any other duties of an equivalent level as assigned by the Superior.
Qualification Profile
He /She shall have a degree in Computer or Library Sciences with a background in administration, training with public relations ability; minimum of three (3) years work experience, Age: 40 or below with a pleasant disposition. Sound Computer knowledge (MS office)
