Transcode XDCAM to ProRes 422, 4444 for Final Cut Pro |

Summary: If you want to import XDCAM files to Final Cut Pro for editing without any issue, a good suggestion is to convert Sony XDCAM to ProRes. Learn details. If you’ve shot digital videos with a Sony XDCAM camera( PMW-EX3, PMW-EX1, PMW-320K, PMW-200, PDW-F800), you may get a pile of XDCAM files. To make a short film, you will need to add these XDCAM files to Final Cut Pro for editing on Mac(Yosemite, Mavericks included). However, Final Cut Pro(including FCP X) can’t support Sony XDCAM footage natively(Even if you apply some plug-ins, issues still exists sometime).That's why so many people like you are looking for ways to convert XDCAM to ProRes encoded videos, which are highly compatible with Final Cut Pro. To fulfill your need, a video converter app is needed. Brorsoft Video Converter for Mac is the tool highly recommended. The program comes with several optimized format for Final Cut Pro, which enables you to transcode XDCAM footage to ProRes 422, ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422 LT, ProRes 4444 for using in Final Cut Pro X, FCP 6, FCP 7 directly. Besides converting XDCAM to MOV, this Mac video converter also enables you to convert many other videos files like AVI/MKV/MP4/MPG to ProRes on Mac with the best quality. Just download the program and start Sony XDCAM to ProRes conversion under Mac OS X. Tutorial: Convert XDCAM video to ProRes(422, 422 HQ, 422 LT, 4444) for FCP 1. Launch the Sony XDCAM Converter for Mac program and click the "Add" button to load Sony XDCAM files for converting. 2. Click on the “Format” and you will get a dropdown menu and then select Final Cut Pro > Apple ProRes 422 (*.mov), which is the best format for Final Cut Pro. ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422 Proxy, ProRes 422 LT, ProRes 4444 are also supported for your choice. 3. Adjust the video and parameters, including the Bitrate of Video and Audio, Audio, Video Size, Sample Rate, Frame Rate, Audio Channels, etc., by clicking the Settings buttion on the main interface. 4. Click the arrow button to start transcoding Sony XDCAM footage to ProRes .mov for Final Cut Pro immediately. After the conversion finished, you can directly transfer the ProRes video to FCP X or FCP 7 for further editing without any problem. Additional Tips: Besides transcoding Sony XDCAM to ProRes for FCP, this XDCAM to ProRes Converter can also convert Sony XDCAM, XDCAM HD, XDCAM EX files (from PMW-EX3, PMW-EX1R, PMW-EX1, PMW-320K, PMW-200, PMW-100, PDW-F800…) to iMovie, FCE, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc NLE systems on Mac.
