Summary: Looking for a way to stream AVI files via DLNA? This article offers you a simple method to get AVI files supported by DLNA, so you can stream AVI over DLNA without any compatibility issue. You can use DLNA feature to access media files over your home network from other DLNA enabled devices. If you have some video files like AVI stored, ever though of streaming the AVI movies to DLNA compliant PC, HD TV or tablet to share with your families and friends. The point here, DLNA does not support AVI format well. You may meet problems when streaming AVI over DLNA: Q: “Trying to play .avi via DLNA, but it seems like the current firmware I’m using doesn't support .avi files over DLNA. Any solution to fix the issue?” A simple solution we’ve found out to play AVI via DLNA is to convert AVI to DLNA supported video format first. Actually, some DLNA compatible devices can support AVI format, but it is limited to Xvid/DivX SD. Some DivX HD AVI movies are not supported well. In usual, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 are the typical supported formats by DLNA. To make all AVI files DLNA compliant, you can encode AVI to DLNA most compatible format. After multiple testing, we found Brorsoft Video Converter is the best solution for you. This video app is professional on fast transcoding AVI to DLNA supported format without quality loss. As for DLNA streaming, select a proper bitrate and resolution based on your WLAN bandwidth. 3. Click Convert button to start converting AVI to DLNA compatible video. After the conversion, click "Open" to quick locate the converted video; now you can stream converted AVI files over DLNA to HDTV, PS3 and other DLNA compliant device for enjoyment anywhere you like.
