BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR - EAST AFRICA Eastern Africa - Nairobi, Kenya Perm Business Services Added on 02/09/2010 About our client Our client is a global leader in the domain of authentication services, which is developing its activities on the Africa continent, notably within the Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, Tobacco, Spirits and Currency Industries. Job description Based in Nairobi, Kenya, you will be responsible for the business development in targeted East African countries. Reporting to the Managing Director for Africa, your main responsibilities will be to: -Manage existing business relationships in East Africa by maintaining active relationships with clients and seeking additional growth opportunities. -Meet defined revenue generation targets set by the client and provide regular revenue forecasts. -Drive new business development in targeted markets - Oil & Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Tobacco, Spirits, and Currency. -Establish and maintain a network of key senior level personnel at each prospective client. -Enhance the standing of the client as the global leader by participating selectively in conferences and interacting with industry groups and government agencies. Who we are looking for Holder of an Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business or a related discipline, you have at least 5 years (10+ years preferred) of experience in direct business development, sales, or sales management with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing a sales strategy and driving revenue growth and expansion. Gifted with entrepreneurial skills, you are able to communicate effectively within different cultural contexts and negotiate persuasively with high-level decision makers. Organized and versatile, you are able to manage multiple clients and lead a team in an emerging market if necessary. Additionally, you are accustomed to working with sensitive and confidential information. An experience on the African continent is required for this position. Candidates must be fluent in English.
