Interesting, i knew where u were going to all along.
will u preach the same message to that person who does not earn welll enough to get him a driver or even own a care (hence he gets stucked in a public transport) will u preach the same message to the same man who can only afford a small gen (at least he has bought a little time here) and cant afford its daily gas (petrol) usage or if he is fortunate to own a washing machine (maybe passed down by his ancestor or bought on aunction ).
that same man has to walk down in d dark in other to buy food (just to buy time of cooking). in d dark without street lights and proper security.
lets be real here; has said earlier in the topic and i qoute "time is relative". this is not a function of what is good for the goose is good for the .....
As much as i agree with to some extent about thought and d 24hrs buy time principle ....
if i may ask.. while growing up ... how much time were u able to buy? ............speaking for that nigerian boy on the street.
1. Is there anything to suggest that the majority of Lagosians dont "give in" to the BRT plot?
2. Is there evidence to show that any well thought out, planned and implemented scheme that offers needed service to Nigerians has not been or will not be "embraced" by majority?
Do you see the way we struggle to maintain BRT? Both the buses and the lanes. Do you realise that the NURTW boys driving those special buses are still driving it like Molues. Climbing culverts and destroying the tires. Do you see the state of the busstops that they constructed? Some of them are already decapitated and its not long the whole project started! Its bad that we can not appreciate the efforts to make these things and improve them. We should be talking of improving BRT to the European standards that it was copied from and not destroying the buses and lanes. Do you see the flagrant abuse of the BRT lanes by both the people and law enforcement officers? I lived at Maryland so it was a thing I saw very often. How do you therefore make these majorities aligned to abusing services have the right attitude?

Solution: Nigerians should embrace new ideas by developing and sustaining an attitude for the maintainability of good ideas. i.e Dont destroy the roads and lanes. Dnt break the rules of the BRT lanes. Also, keep the bus system on a perpertual improvement path both as individuals and as government.
One for all ! ! ! Cant be overemphasized.

I agree with Fowe when he said " Don't buy the time you won't use".
Considering the income level of most Nigerians with far less than N2000 per day (8hrs), buying of time looks impossible. For most Nigerians, wages are paid in Nigeria on monthly basis and to a large extent the wages are not performance driven so it becomes useless to buy the time you can't convert to cash.
Secondly an average African man is not time conscious. Punctuality is not part of our lifestyle. That is why a meeting scheduled for 10:00am will not commence till 11:30am. So tell me, for a single meeting, a man who ended up wasting over an hour for flimsy excuses will still go home with his complete salary at the end of the month. Telling such a man to buy time is of no use because his time management skill is nothing to write home about.
